The solution to common, unsightly, plastic-covered lamp cords are cloth-covered cords. Cloth-covered cords are not an option, they are a necessity. If a lamp, chandelier or other light fixture has a visible electrical cord, then the fixture must be rewired with a cloth-covered cord. The subtle softness of a cloth-covered cord can just as easily enhance a fixture as the harshness of a plastic-covered cord diminish the fixture. My personal favorites are the 18 gauge twisted cotton covered cords available in several colors.

18 Gauge 2-Conductor, Twisted, Cotton - GOLD, GRAY MARKER THREAD The brush gold color is soft, mustardy, and like all of the other twisted two conductor wires the cotton braid, it is not lacquered. It really shows off the individual fibers in the braid. This wire is great for lamps, old or new, as well as vintage appliances, electric fans, and small hanging sconces. We used this wire to great effect, suspending old porcelain sockets with bare reproduction - Edison lightbulbs. It's a simple but great way to add period authenticity to an old farmhouse kitchen or bungalow. UL rated,..... Click here for more details |
